MOMENTUM

The other side of the hill. That's where you need to get. That's where momentum kicks in and the tasks you complete have a snowball effect.

You may not know this about me, but I've had some rather large medical issues to overcome. It has felt as though I was climbing this massive hill, while pushing a boulder. Sometimes the boulder would get stuck & I'd stay still for a while trying to determine how to get enough strength to rock it back into forward momentum. Then other times, it would knock me over & roll back down quite a ways. I kept telling my husband how amazing it was going to be once I got to the top of the hill and the momentum of good health was going to just start snowballing me back toward full strength.

“It is essential to continue to take that next small step forward, no matter how small it is. With each step, each decision, you build momentum and it becomes easier to continue moving forward and harder to retreat” -Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld

Just like with health, your business follows a similar pattern. You're climbing a hill, desperate to reach the pinnacle, where instead of losing momentum along the way, the peak barrels you toward faster success.

Isn't it helpful though just to know that that's how it's going to go? I used to see it discouragingly, staring up at the peak, looking at how far I still needed to go. It felt impossible. But with each slow step forward, I was inching closer toward the goal.

And eventually when new bumps came up, I paused to notice that the distance to the bottom where I came from was further than the distance still to go to the top. And somehow the angle of the climb became easier while I was standing on it than it appeared from below. Momentum had shifted in my favor because I kept going.

"The rhythm of daily action aligned with your goals creates the momentum that separates dreamers from super-achievers." -Darren Hardy

It's easy to feel buried by the weight of your to do list. But your consistent actions toward your goals will start to make a real difference in your momentum toward success. The layers of progress start to overlap and feed off each other & your business growth becomes exponential.

So if you're still on this side of your hill pushing that boulder, know that momentum is your friend. Keep going on your steady pace & you'll be surprised when you look up & see how much progress you've made.

As long as you're not standing still, then you're getting closer to your goal.
