 a bit about me

Hand-drawn chrysanthemum illustration in a simple botanical style drawn by Andrea of Rustic & Simple Design

I’m someone who finds peace in simplicity, gentle spaces, soft colors, and things that feel grounded and intentional. Nature is where I reset, and that calm, earthy feeling tends to show up in everything I create. I also have a slightly sarcastic side, because, well, balance matters. My faith shapes a lot of how I move through the world, slowly, thoughtfully, and with a whole lot of gratitude. My work naturally carries a bit of that same quiet steadiness. I’m drawn to designs and systems that feel warm and supportive, not loud or demanding, things that blend into your life instead of shouting for attention.

My style has always leaned toward rustic charm with modern simplicity, clean lines, muted tones, nothing overly bright or busy. I love designs that feel warm and comforting, the kind that blend into your life instead of shouting for attention.

My business didn’t start with a perfect plan (or really, any plan at all). I started by creating simple sarcastic products because I wanted more laughter in my life at the time. As I gained confidence, I began sharing my drawings and illustrations, which felt a little more personal.

I eventually earned my certification in surface pattern design and began creating collections inspired by nature, quiet moments, and the imperfect beauty of hand-drawn details. For a long time, those designs lived on products, paper goods, fabric, and wallpaper, exactly where you’d expect them to. But as my business expanded, I realized those same patterns worked beautifully as website design elements. They brought calm, cohesion, and visual rhythm to websites, especially for small business owners who wanted something thoughtful and grounded, designed to feel cohesive and aligned with their vision.

At the same time, I was learning, often the hard way, how overwhelming it can feel to build a business without strong foundations. Most creatives begin with passion, not a plan and suddenly you’re expected to figure out branding, websites, SEO, marketing, and systems all at once, even though no one really teaches you how those pieces fit together. Through experience, pivots, and plenty of reworking, I learned that when you understand what matters first and what can wait, everything feels easier. Not effortless... but calmer and more intentional.

Today, I help small business owners and creative entrepreneurs build businesses that make sense, both structurally and personally. I teach the foundations that simplify everything: clarity, branding, website strategy, SEO, and simple systems that support real life. Watching someone shift from overwhelm to confidence, that moment when they realize, “Oh… I can actually do this” is my favorite part of the work. Helping people build businesses that reflect who they are and what they care about most feels like exactly what I’m meant to be doing.
